Does the Scarless Breast Reduction Method Really Work?

Scarless breast reduction, which is often referred to as liposuction breast reduction, promotes faster healing times as the main benefit of this surgery.

It should be noted, however, that even though this is a different type of breast surgery, liposuction is still a serious surgery. And even though the incisions are far smaller, it is still an invasive procedure.

Traditional Breast Reduction Surgery vs The Scarless Method

During traditional breast reduction surgery, excess breast tissue is removed using a surgical excision approach. Liposuction can then be added on in order to reshape the breast. Traditional surgery combines breast size and weight reduction with skin tightening to achieve the desired result.

During a liposuction breast reduction, the breast mound and nipples remain in place and only fat cells are removed in order to reduce the weight of the breasts. What this means is that if you also have droopy breasts, the scarless method may not give you the exact results you’re hoping for.

Is this breast reduction method truly scarless?

The short answer is no.

While liposuction incisions are certainly smaller, several small entry points will need to be made to complete the procedure.

It’s for this reason that liposuction is generally paired with breast reduction surgery to achieve a more desirable result. Patients with heavier breasts that are also sagging can now reduce the weight of their breasts while making them perkier at the same time.

Overall, liposuction breast reduction is ideal for minor breast reductions and is not the best option for also treating sagging breasts.

What results can I expect from a breast reduction surgery?

There are several factors that will affect the results of your surgery, including:

– Your surgeon. A breast reduction surgeon such as Dr Andre Safvat is highly qualified and has extensive experience with this particular procedure, making him a good choice for your breast reduction surgery. It’s also important to only consult with a FRACS level plastic surgeon if you want the best results. Have a look at before and after photos of any breast reduction surgeries that your surgeon has performed in the past to get an idea of what he or she is capable of.

– Your recovery. If you want to be happy with your results, it’s important to follow your surgeon’s post-surgery instructions as closely as possible. This will ensure that you experience as little complications as possible and can benefit from a speedy recovery. Caring for your health and your breasts after your surgery will greatly reduce your risk of contracting an infection.

– Your expectations. Before you proceed with breast reduction surgery, you will need to set realistic expectations. Your surgeon will be able to guide you through the process from start to finish so that you can set expectations accordingly.

Overall, unless you already have perky breasts, traditional breast reduction surgery paired with liposuction is the ideal option for achieving the most desirable results.
